Gr. 12 Photography Project: TRIPTYCHS
What is a “Tryptich”?
When a photographer or artist arranges three images together on the same panel, the result is a tryptich.
The advantage offered by this style of presentation is that one can see the ‘common thread’ that binds the different images together.
This provides an opportunity for the photographer to explore ideas or symbols
through different, but, related content.
Most importantly, the collection and arrangement of the three images has a greater impact when seen together,
than the sum total of the three individual photos.
(In other words, the whole is greater than the sum of the parts.)
